Divurumpola Vihara is known as the place where Queen Sita went on “Agni Pariksha” (or Fire test) according to the mythological script Ramayana. This temple is located about 15 kms from Seetha Eliya, a town in Nuwara Eliya. Divurumpola in the local Sinhala language means “place of oath”. The Divurumpola temple is where Sita proves her innocence and purity to Rama by oath of fire (or test of fire).
