Ravana Cave was used by King Ravana to hide Princess Sita. The Ravana Cave is said to be a connected cave to the Ravana Falls. History has that the cave was used by King Ravana to hide Princess Sita before taking her to Ashoka Vatika. Archeological excavations also revealed skulls that date back to 20,000 B.C. King Ravana has used this cave as a network of tunnels that could be accessed from the hills surrounding the area. The network of tunnels also connect to the Dowa Rock Temple in Bandarawela. The tunnels also reveal that they are man-made and not natural formations. Although a nice experience for history and Mahabarath lovers, the cave has a very steep hike that cannot be achieved by average tourists. If you were a hiker, you would love this place.
